Sentet is a squirrel-like Pokémon introduced in the second generation Pokémon games.

Information

Sentret is a Pokémon that is very nervous and cautious. While one Sentret sleeps, another Sentret acts as a sentry. It stands on its tail in order to get a better view of its surroundings and at the first sign of danger will warn any other of its kin by screeching and slamming its tail against the ground. When separated from its pack, a Sentret becomes incapable of sleep due to fear.

Sentret evolves into a Furret when it reaches Level 15.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Sentret is commonly found on Routes 1 and 29, and it is also found on Route 43 in Crystal. In HeartGold/SoulSilver, it was also found at the Safari Zone's Wetland area. Sentret could also be caught at the Pokéwalker's Refreshing Field course, from which it could be transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver.

In Fire Red and LeafGreen, Sentret are found at the Canyon Entrance, Five Isle Meadow and Water Path. In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, Sentret can be rarely found on Route 202 when using the Pokéradar. In Black and White, Sentret appeared at Route 7 during swarms.

Other Games

Sentret could be unlocked in Pokémon Puzzle Challenge by defeating the Beauty, who appeared on Normal Mode if the player achieved a seven-block combo or higher before facing Clair. In Pokémon Trozei!, Sentret can be found in Secret Storage 11, Endless Level 18, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, Sentret are found on the third through sixth floors of the Sinister Woods, and in Explorers of Time and Darkness they are found on the first nineteen flights of Mt. Travail and the first seven flights of Shimmer Hill. Sentret also appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at Dolce Island and Mitonga Road.

Other Appearances

  • They have made several appearances throughout the Pokémon anime series. One notable appearance during the Johto arc was an episode in which a young Sentret and Misty's Togepi accidentally hijacked Team Rocket's Arbok-Tank while playing together, until in the end Ash and company were able to save them.
  • Sentret has made some minor appearances during the Pokémon Adventures manga. Professor Elm was shown to own one, and Earl had Crystal use one to demonstrate concepts such as held items to his students.

Trivia

  • Sentret's name is a combination of "sentry" and "ferret", despite the creature resembling a flying squirrel moreso than a ferret (although its evolution is closer to ferret).
