Charmeleon is a fierce lizard-like flame-tailed Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation games. It is the middle form of Charmander's evolutionary line and evolves into Charizard.
Information[edit]
Charmelon evolves from Charmander at Level 16. It is a tough and hot-headed Pokémon. It is excited by tough battles, which can cause it to blow out bluish-white flames. Charmeleon usually attacks in a barbaric nature by whipping its tail around and using its claws to slash away at enemies. When swung, Charmeleon's burning tail will raise the temperature to unbearably high levels. It will constantly seek opponents due to its nature and will not calm down until it wins.
They usually live in rocky mountain areas, where their tails shine at night like evening stars. Charmeleon evolves into Charizard at Level 36.
Appearances[edit]

In Other Media[edit]
- Charmeleon appears in several episodes of the Pokémon anime when Ash's Charmander evolves in the latter half of the Kanto episodes, in the episode "March of the Exeggutor Squad". Although initially loyal, after evolving into Charmeleon it becomes rebellious and lazy, often attacking Ash and refusing to follow his orders. These habits only become worse when it evolves into Charizard only three episodes later in battle with Aerodactyl and other preshistoric Pokémon. Other Charmeleon occassionally appear, such as the evolved form of Ritchie's Charmander, named Zippo, although this Charmeleon was obedient to its trainers' orders.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Blue's Charmander evolves into a Charmeleon before facing Brock at the Pewter City gym and is able top easily defeat his Rock-type Pokémon. It is shown to become a Charizard by the time of the battles with Team Rocket at Saffron City.
