Breloom is a fighting mushroom-topped Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Shroomish.
Information[edit]
Breloom evolves from Shroomish at Level 23. It has short arms that stretch when it throws punches. Breloom are known for their ability to swiftly close in on foes using their light footwork and can put real boxers to shame with their fighting techniques. Breloom's punches are often quick enough that they are virtually invisible. It also scatters spores through the holes in the cap on its head, and Breloom usually attacked victims with its fists while they are preoccupied with the poison. They love warm and humid climates, and they usually feed on trees and plants found in fields and forests. Breloom's tail is ringed by seeds that are made of hardened toxic spores. Eating these seeds is said to be horrible and could make one's stomach rumble with just a bite.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Breloom could only be obtained by evolving a Shroomish in most cases. In Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, it could be found at the Safari Zone's Wasteland area if enough Forest objects were present.
Other Games[edit]
Breloom could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire as well as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 6, Secret Storage 16, Endless Level 7 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Breloom could be recruited at the seventh through eleventh floors of Foggy Forest. Breloom also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Haunted Zone.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- One episode of the Pokémon anime's Hoenn series featured a group of Breloom that evolved from Shroomish. They hounded Ash's friends and Team Rocket for stealing their fruit until May's Combusken took on their leader in combat, which lead to a truce. Breloom have made several other minor appearances, and a Breloom was also shown as one of Kenny's Pokémon in several episodes of the Sinnoh series.
- In Pokémon Adventures, a wild Breloom appeared in just one chapter of the Ruby/Sapphire arc where it tried to attack Norman but was defeated with one hit from his Vigoroth. Several Breloom (wild as well as opponent rental Pokémon) also appeared in the Emerald series.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "umbrella" (due to the mushroom's resemblance to an umbrella) with "mushroom".
