Skitty is a small kitten-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It's evolved form is Delcatty.

Information[edit]

Skitty usually live within the holes of trees in forests in the wild. They are fascinated by most moving objects and chase them around. Skitty is even known to playfully chase after its own tail and become dizzy. In battle, it makes its tail puff out and threatens foes with a sharp growl. Skitty are valued as pets due to their adorable behavior, although it is actually hard to gain one's trust.

It evolves into Delcatty when exposed to a Moon Stone.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions, Skitty could be rarely found at Route 116. In Ruby and Sapphire, a Skitty could also be obtained by trading a Pikachu to a trainer at Fortree City. In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, they could appear at Route 222 during swarms. Skitty could also be caught through the Pokéwalker at the Hoenn Field course, and they could be transferred from there to HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Other Games[edit]

Skitty could be hatched from an egg in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire. In Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire, the player also received a Skitty egg which could be transferred to any of the third generation color versions as a reward for storing 500 Pokémon from one cartridge in the Box. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Secret Storage 14, Endless Level 14, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. Skitty is also one of the starter Pokémon which the player could potentially turn into at the beginning of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams and Explorers of Time and Darkness. In Rescue Teams, other Skitty could be recruited at the twenty-fourth through twenty-eighth floors of Joyous Tower, while in Explorers they were also recruitable at Happy Outlook. In Pokémon Ranger, they appeared at Fall City, and there was a mission revolving around rescuing a woman's six missing Skitty.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, a sick Sitty was featured in an episode of the Hoenn series where Ash's group tried to take care of it. Team Rocket stole it, and Meowth fell in love with it, but May was able to win the Skitty back by beating Jessie in battle, and the Skitty became her third Pokémon. She used it for the remainder of the Hoenn series and then left it at home before moving on to the Battle Frontier, although she used it again for one episode and for the Wallace Cup in the Sinnoh series. Various other Skitty have also made minor appearances.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Skitty is featured as one of Ruby's Pokémon in the Ruby/Sapphire arc which he received from his father Norman. The female Skitty was useful for contests but was also good in battles. Skitty evolved while fighting in Granite Cave due to accidentally touching Steven Stone's Moon Stone.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a play on "kitty" combined with "skittish".
