Gallade is a courteous male-only humanoid Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It evolves from Kirla and acts as an alternate third and final form for the third generation Pokémon Ralts, with the original option being Gardevoir.
Information[edit]
Gallade will evolve from a Kirlia that has been exposed to a Dawn Stone, but only male Kirlia will evolve. Gallade is known as a master of courtesy and swordmanship. It fights using its blade-like elbows as if they were actual swords, and Gallade fight quite savagely in contrast to their usual politeness. They usually fight to protect others. Gallade are able to sense what their foe is thinking, at which point they will attack "first, fierce and fast".
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Gallade has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a male Kirlia.

Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Gallade could be recruited at the first nine basement floors of Spacial Rift, and one was part of the legendary Team Raider. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Altru Building, and it was used by Ice as a boss Pokémon. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at the Sky Fortress and Dark Temple. Gallade also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at the Silent Forest.
Other Appearances[edit]
In Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, a Gallade helped Ash's group in the tenth movie, and during the Sinnoh series Zoey had a Kirlia which evolved into a Gallade prior to the Grand Festival. It was actually her Gallade and Glameow that won Zoey's competition with Dawn.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Gallade was shown as part of Darach's team during the Platinum arc.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name seems to be a combination of "gallant" (which describes its demeanor) with "blade" (due to its elbow blades).
