Pokémon Card GB2: GRdan Sanjou! (the subtitle translating to Team GR is Here!) is a sequel to Pokémon Trading Card Game that was not released outside of Japan and features a version of Team Rocket, accompanying the introduction of the Team Rocket set in this game. It is also the last video game based on the popular Pokémon trading card game.

Story[edit]

Team Great Rocket has arisen and, under the command of the evil King Biruritchi, kidnapped some of the Club Masters as well as the Grand Masters of the trading card league in order to obtain the Legendary Cards. Mark and Mint set off to rescue them and defeat Biruritchi at his base on GR Island.

Gameplay[edit]

Like the previous game, Card GB2 features a video game version of the real life trading card game. Aside from some graphical tweaks, the gameplay primarily remains the same. The player is also given the choice between playing as Mark (who was the previous game's protagonists) or the new female protagonist, Mint. This installment also has an attempt at an involving story due to the presence of Team Great Rocket as the antagonists, and the overworld is expanded from the first game to include GR Island.

This game still primarily features cards of Pokémon from the first generation, despite the second generation having already been out for a year. However, there are three secret cards for second generation Pokémon: Togepi, Marill and Lugia.
