Mario & Wario is puzzle game by Game Freak. It's notable for being one of the few games that make use of the SNES Mouse. Although the game was released in Japan, it's entirely in English.

Story[edit]

Mario and his friends go to the fairy woods, but Luigi gets lost. Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach search for him, but Wario throws objects on their heads to obscure their vision. Now, as the fairy Wanda, you must lead them to Luigi.

Gameplay[edit]

Mario is unable to see, but he is able to follow the player. The player must guide Mario across the level to Luigi while avoiding enemies and obstacles. The players can move around with the mouse and do various things, such as damage enemies, turn Mario around, and affect the environment. At the end of each world, Wanda and Wario fight.

Though Mario is used above, there is, in reality, three characters the player can guide. The player can choose between Mario, Yoshi, and Peach. The only difference between them is the speed they walk. Yoshi is the fastest, but least maneuverable. Peach is most maneuverable, but the slowest. Mario is in between.

Legacy[edit]

The bucket from Mario & Wario is available in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a trophy as well as in The Great Cave Offensive as a treasure. The game also can be seen at CopyCat's house in Pokémon: Red, Green and Blue Versions.
