Fryguy is a large, living creature of fire with a face and a boss from Super Mario Bros. 2.
Fryguy was apparently created by Wart's Nightmare Machine and was originally, seemingly nothing more than a mask. Fryguy World 4-3 of Super Mario Bros. 2; it is odd that the fiery Fryguy would inhabit World 4, as that entire area is composed of ice.
Fryguy attacks players by leaping around his chamber rapidly, releasing blasts of fire and trying to burn anyone who approaches him. In order to injure Fryguy, players would have to throw Mushroom Blocks at him. After being hit three times with a Mushroom Block, Fryguy will split into several miniature version of himself, which must be hit with Mushroom Blocks to defeat.
Trivia
- A creature with a somewhat similar appearance to Fryguy appears as an obstacle in Bowser's Castle in Mario Hoops 3-on-3. Additionally, the creature depicted on the painting of Lethal Lava Land in Super Mario 64 bears some minor resemblance to Fryguy.
- Fryguy made sporadic appearances in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, where he was portrayed as a minion of King Koopa. Oddly, in Nintendo Comics System, Fryguy was portrayed as a species instead of an individual character.
