GM is a supporting character in the Gamehiker Member OG series. He is unrelated to the "original" version of GM who appeared in Koopa Bar & Grille and related OGs such as Paper Mario 2.

Background[edit]

Giuseppe Masteri, or GM for short, started life as a normal guy with a love of video games and a lack of ambition. Because of his skill at video games, he gave himself the title of Game Master. He attended high school, but didn't go on to college because he didn't want to waste his twenties worrying about grades. While in school he met his good friend Don Miguel Galucavich. Don Miguel would tell him about his latest idea and the two would discuss it. He also became a pot smoker. Rather than buy it from dealers all the time, he decided to grow his own. He is physically described as "a tall, Caucasian male with black, white-tipped spiky hair, like the quills of a porcupine. He wears black boots, black gloves, a black duster with a large red hammer/sickle symbol on the back. Wears different hats once in a while."

After school, he got a job as a convenience store clerk and lived in what was originally gonna be the guest room of Don Miguel's house. He also received the Unnamed Sword, a sword with a multicolored blade that was passed down through his family. Every time it was given to a new owner, the new owner was suppose to give it a new name. GM wasn't that good at making up names, so he didn't name it. He carried it around with him just in case some idiot tried to mug him or something.

One day he was playing video games while high. He used a cheat code in a game and thought that it would be cool if he were able to use them in real life. He called Don Miguel if he could make it so. So Don Miguel made a brain implant and attachment. If someone with the implant puts a disk or cartridge into the device it come with, plugs the device into his head, and presses the red button, the game's information would be downloaded into the implant. Then the user would only have to say the code sequence outloud and the code would be used (although he cannot use invincibility codes). GM was high during the operation, so he wasn't that worried about Don Miguel's IQ changing during it, thus possibly killing him. GM does a lot of stupid things while high.

GM used his new powers to show off, cheat in backalley fights, and to try to attract girls. He has yet to be successful at the latter. Using a weapons cheat, he gained his favorite weapon, an assault rifle he named Omnipotence due to its power with unlimited ammo cheats. It has no relation to Murasame's ship. Once he got some a cheat that generated money, he quit his job at the convenience store and bought himself an apartment where he secretly grew a weed garden on the building. He could've gotten a mansion if he wanted to, but he didn't want the cops to find out how he made money. So, until Gamehiker Member OG V, he spent most of his time playing video games, hanging out with Don Miguel, and exercising. He had cheats that could change his appearance, but he felt it would be good to keep his real self in shape for the ladies. Still, he has yet to attract one.

Timeline History[edit]

Good Timeline[edit]

In Gamehiker Member OG V: Hobo Meets Girl, GM was playing video games when Don Miguel called and asked him if he would help him sell "Love Perfume". He was skeptical, but he did anyway since he was bored. To attract costumers, he snuck into Yami Yoshi's yard, suckerpunched Golem, and stole their food. He intended to lead them to the Love Perfume stand, but was caught in a bear trap and was beaten up for twenty-four hours.

After a healing cheat, he rode Zambi Yoshi around in an attempt to get revenge on the people who attacked him. He got sidetracked by the Kiffus incident. He teamed up with Kiffus briefly, until the appearence of Cobrax. He switched sides and teamed up with Luigi of the Pipes, Masamune, and Vorpal, who were after the Doomhikers, all of whom beat him up earlier. He came up with the idea to take over the world by making the most kickass movie ever made and sicking the world's armies on the Doomhikers. He directed Untitled, which turned out to be the worst movie ever made. It is believed that he was high the entire time. Soon the Doomhikers became good guys again and they all went after the real bad guys.

GM was late for Gamehiker Member OG VII: The Undiscovered Subtitle and it started without him. He must have gotten a wrong address for Gamehiker Member OG VIII: The Final Parody and following chapters, because he never got there at all. He did appear throughout the Some Fanventures series as one of the primary Fanvers. Possibly he has been busy engaging Magikoopa in spontaneous ping-pong matches, as demonstrated in GMOG Sidequest: MAGIKOOPA???, where he is coerced into working for Wariofan 13 as an enemy of the Gamehikers.

It is unknown what GM did between then and 2065. He escaped the Earth's destruction so he can get back at the ones who did it. He died in the counterattack, but not before passing down Omnipotence and the Unnamed Sword, which by then he named Mirage Girl for currently unknown reasons, to his son. His body was found and the cheat code implant was removed and passed down with the weapons, like he had wished.

Quotes[edit]

Don Miguel: Now, it's going to be a sentient being, so I should come up with a name for it.

GM: Snake.

Don Miguel: Uh, what was that?

GM: Name it Snake. Snakes are awesome.

Don Miguel: So they are.

GM: Especially cobras. Yeah, cobras are awesome, with the hoods and all that... Hey, give the android a hood! And a tail!

(Don Miguel wanted to ask him other stuff, but after that, he thought that a stoned GM wasn't the best person to take suggestions from.)

Don Miguel: Well, that's nice and all, but, oh, they're showing Episode 2 on channel 5, gotta go, bye bye!
