Nightmin

A variety of Pikmin that will typically only come out at night, hence their name. How the Nightmin came to be is unknown; the group may in fact be a band of Pikmin left behind by their own Onions and forced to survive the hostilities of the nocturnal creatures of the planet. As such they adapted their dark color, night-piercing red eyes, and smaller form to assist in evading predators. They have also developed claws and teeth-filled maws, as well as a pack mentality.

Nightmin do, or did at some point, have Onions as evidenced by the ending of Pikmin. However, the evolution of mouths has turned them into a carnivorous species, eating anything from Bulborbs to other Pikmin (but not other Nightmin). Pikmin are, in fact, their most preferred food. Because of this, it is theorized that the Nightmin may have eaten their own Onions and that very few are in existence today.
