Aron is a small and pest-like steel-bodied Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the first stage in a three-step evolutionary line, with its evolved forms being Lairon and Aggron.
Information[edit]
Aron has a body of steel that it makes by feeding on the iron ore that it digs from mountains. They usually live deep in mountains, but they are sometimes driven away by hunger and act as pests by eating railroad trucks and cars. Aron can demolish even a heavy dump truck with one all-out charge, and it will usually then consume the remains.
It evolves into Lairon at Level 32. During its evolution, it grows new steel armor and sheds the old carapace, which is usually salvaged for iron materials.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions, Aron was found somewhat commonly at Granite Cave and rarely at Victory Road. In Diamond and Platinum, it could appear at Fuego Ironworks when the Poké Radar was used. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it could appear at the Safari Zone's Rocky Beach area if enough Rock objects were present. In White, it appeared at White Forest.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, it was uncommonly found at the Cave Poké Spot, and after being caught, it could later be traded to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, it could be hatched from an egg. In Pokémon Trozei!, it appeared at Secret Storage 5, Secret Storage 16, Endless Level 18 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could be recruited at Mt. Steel, the fourteenth through nineteenth floors of Buried Relic and the seventh through tenth floors of Wish Cave, while in Explorers of Time and Darkness it was recruitable at the first eight floors of Northern Desert. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Peril Cliffs. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Wireless Tower. Aron also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Cavern Zone and the Lava Zone.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, one episode featured a swarm of Aron that rampaged through Granite Cave after being disturbed, and Steven Stone was shown to have his own Aron. Aron and a Lairon also have a minor role in the eleventh movie, and they have since made mostly minor appearances.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Aron was one of the two Pokémon that Sapphire owned at the beginning of the Ruby/Sapphire arc. She subjected it to rigorous training at the Granite Cave, and it evolved into Lairon while fighting Brawly's Makuhita.
