A Beady Long Legs is a large Arachnorb that uses its massive feet to kill smaller creatures. It first appeared in Pikmin 2 as a recurring boss.

Information

The second most common of the boss creatures (Burrowing Snagrets being the first), Beady Long Legs are also one of only two boss creatures to appear above the ground in Pikmin 2. Beady Long Legs tend to build their webs above open, circular areas. When small creatures enter the area, the Beady Long Legs drops down and proceeds to crush them with its large feet. Why it does this is questionable: it could possibly absorb nutrients through its feet, it could be protecting its territory, or it could just be the jerk of the pikmin world.

The orb of the Beady Long Legs that is supported by its four legs contains its vital organs, making it the perfect target. The Beady Long Legs usually holds this orb far enough from the ground that only yellow pikmin can reach it, though it will occasionally grow tired and lower the orb, allowing any pikmin to reach it. When killed, the Beady Long Legs will disintegrate, leaving only what it was carrying behind.

• Beady Long Legs will sometimes drop pellets when they are defeated; otherwise, there is nothing to collect from them.
