BioLogic Space Labs (BSL) is a large space station constructed specifically to research different alien life. It serves as the primary setting for Metroid Fusion.

Information[edit]

The space station was divided into a number of areas. The top of the spacestation was the location of most of the space station controls and a few small containment areas for creatures. On the lower half of the station there were six different environmental areas as well as the reactor silo. These six different areas were built primarily to support diverse lifeforms in a habitat that simulated the one they were from.

Background[edit]

After the destruction of all the Metroids on SR388, the Federation hired out BSL to investigate the ecosystem on the planet. However, the space station was also being used to research some of the Federation's top secret projects. In a secret area, Metroids had been successfully clone and exposed to gamma radiation in order to achieve further evolution of the species. The space station also was a host of a few bio-mechanical creatures. The remains of Ridley had also been found and been chryogenically frozen.

In order to act a guide on SR388, Samus Aran was brought in to assist the researchers. After defeating one of the creatures, she was infected by the X Parasite. While en route to Federation HQ, parts of her power suit were surgically removed and sent to BSL for study. The researchers at BSL were soon all killed as the X Parasite quickly infected them and was able to turn the power suit remains into the powerful SA-X. The X Parasite quickly spread through the ship. Despite Samus Aran's best efforts, the X count not be contained and eventually the space station had to be destroyed.

Sections[edit]

The spacestation itself was divided into these enviromental areas -

Sector 1 - SRX - An enviroment built to mimic the natural conditions on SR388.

Sector 2 - TRO - An enviroment built to mimic conditions suitable for tropical life.

Sector 3 - PYR - An enviroment built to mimic conditions suitable for lifeforms accustomed to extreme heat.

Sector 4 - ARC - An enviroment built to sustain aquatic lifeforms.

Sector 5 - PYR - An enviroment built to mimic conditions suitable for lifeforms accustomed to extreme cold.

Sector 6 - NOC - An enviroment built to mimic conditions suitable for nocturnal lifeforms.
