The Doodle Bug is an insect that emits poisonous gases to defend itself.

A creature similar to Iridescent Flint Bugs, which like their relatives, tends to attract pimkmin and cause them to follow. This species is somewhat smaller than its relatives and does not have a shiny shell. What makes it unique is that it emits a poisonous odor that will kill any creatures it comes near to. Since white pikmin are immune to such things, they are ideal for being used to flip the creature over and reveal he stored up nectar inside. The time it spends above ground is limited, as it will soon burrow underground and vanish.
What causes the poisonous odor is odd. The creature does not contain any actual musk-producing organ. The stench actually is created from flatulence formed from the decaying contents in its intestines. Analysis of the odor reveals that it contains not only methane, but hydrogen sulfide as well. As such the creature has been labelled a Grade XIII biohazard.
