Type | Grub-dog |
Size | 30mm |
Debut | Pikmin |
Dwarf Bulbears are enemies in both Pikmin games. They follow the same attack pattern as other dwarf Bulborbs, but, unlike the other small bulborbs, the bulbear is a true bulborb as it does not use mimicry. They are the offspring of the Spotty Bulbear, and resemble shrunken versions of it, even with the large mouth. In Pikmin, they acted the same as other small bulborbs, besides the fact that they pointed their heads upwards rather than downwards, and they simply had more health than the mimics. They also had red eyes (possibly due to a hibernation period, and something must of woken them up), and spots which grew and shrank. Throwing a Pikmin perfectly on top of it also results in a one hit kill, but it is tricky.
In Pikmin 2 they follow the same attack pattern as in Pikmin, but they are somewhat easier due to fact that Purple Pikmin home into the center of bulbear when thrown. The dwarf bulbear's behavior was altered somehow, it would follow you without going back to its post. As the Spotty Bulbear roams the area in Pikmin 2, the bulbears would follow the parent, making fights more difficult. Their appearance was changed slightly too, they no longer have red eyes and growing spots, instead they have purple eyes.
Trivia[edit]
In both games, they take three pikmin to carry and turn into four seeds when brought to an Onion.
In Pikmin, they are found in the Distant Spring in the main game, and the Forest of Hope in Challenge Mode. In Pikmin 2 they are found in the Perplexing Pool, the Angle Maze in 2-Player Mode, and various other caves.
