Fiona is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and she is the first mounted unit available in the game.

Background[edit]

Fiona was born to Lanvega, one of the Four Riders of Daein under Ashnard's father. Following his death, she inherited control of the independent territory of Marado. She sought to protect her land and her territory and so ignored Ashnard's call for Marado to aid the rest of Daein in fighting the Mad King's War during the timeframe of Path of Radiance. She was a keen and observant person who seemed to think things through before taking action.

She faced trouble from the Begnion Occupational Army in "Part 1: Silver-Haired Maiden", as General Jarod requested that the Marado army aid the Begnion forces in quelling the Daein Liberation Army, as compensation for her ignoring Ashnard's call. Fiona reluctantly agreed in order to protect Marado from Begnion and their brutal tactics. She entered the battlefield aiding Laverton against the Daein Liberation Army in the second half of "Chapter 6: Raise the Standard". However, Laverton crossed the line when he brought out a group of civilians with the intent of killing them all until the other side surrendered. Fiona could no longer stand their brutal tactics and intervened. She and her men betrayed Begnion by rescuing the hostages and retreating with them.

Speaking with Micaiah after the battle, Fiona ultimately decided to swear allegiance with the Daein Liberation Army and joined them in their following battles. In the Base Conversation of "Endgame: Daein, Arise!", she gave Micaiah a Thani tome as Fiona's token of gratitude for Micaiah for letting her join the army, and she looked forward to helping to form a more unified Daein. Fiona later joined the Daein Royal Army when they went off into battle against the Laguz Alliance Army in "Part 3: Intersecting Vows".

After the wars ended, it is said that Fiona continued to watch over and protect the people of Marado until the autumn of her years.
