Fusajiro Yamauchi was the founder and first president of Nintendo. He lived in Kyoto, Japan and had a daughter named Tei. She married Sekiryo Kaneda.
Yamauchi began his company as Nintendo Koppai in 1889. The company produced hanafuda cards made from the bark of mulberry trees. The cards were sold in two shops, one in Kyoto and one in Osaka. Nintendo grew quickly and Yamauchi had to hire assistants to keep up.
In 1929, Fusojiro Yamauchi retired in favor of his son-in-law, Sekiryo Kaneda. Yamauchi died in 1940. The cause of his death is not publicly known, due to limited communication in Japan during World War II.
