Will (or Ed) is a cadet in the Rubinelle Army that survives the meteor crisis that decimates the entire planet and makes his appearance in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. He narrowly avoids being killed by The Beast and his thugs. After being rescued by Brenner of the 12th Battalion, Will becomes a CO working to find survivors and fight off raiders like the Beast. Soon after he encounters a mysterious young girl who has no memories and thus he names her Isabella.

Over the course of their travels, they discover an old government underground base and come into contact with the New Rubinelle Army led by the greedy and power-hungry Greyfield. Over the course of the war with Lazurian Army, they soon discover that the one fanning the flames is none other than Dr. Caulder, a brilliant arms dealer who has also released a deadly virus as part of his 'experiment on mankind'. As the new leader of the 12th Battalion, Will has to unite the remains of the Rubinelle and Lazurian Army to defeat Greyfield and Dr. Caulder so humanity will have a chance to thrive.
