Wart is a giant frog who appeared as the final boss of Super Mario Bros. 2. He originates from Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, the Japanese game which the American Super Mario Bros. 2 was based on. He led an army of minions in conquering Sub-Con and imprisoning its inhabitants within giant vases, while in the original game he had pulled several children into a storybook.

Wart is only faced in the final castle within both games. He attacks by spitting bubbles, but in the end his only weakness is that he cannot stomach vegetables. He is defeated by Mario and friends in the Super Mario Bros. 2. or Imajin and his family in Doki Doki Panic. He also makes a cameo appearance on Koholint Island in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening as Mamu (his Japanese name), singer who passes on the Frog Song of Soul.
