The Great Fairy's Sword is a blade that was featured as an unlockable item in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Information[edit]

The Great Fairy's Sword is a blade that has black roses etched into it and is described as the most powerful of all blades. Within Majora's Mask, this sword is bestowed upon Link by the Great Fairy of Kindness at Great Bay as a reward for reuniting her body. Due to its size, Link must wield it with both hands, so he cannot defend himself with his shield while using it. The Great Fairy's Sword is capable of performing spin attacks, but it requires precise timing between rotating the control stick and pressing the c button that the sword is equipped to.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • The Great Fairy's Sword can be unlocked as a weapon in Soulcalibur II, where it instead called the Great Fairy Sword and is paired with the Hylian Shield. It raises Link's attack to 120 percent while slowing recovering HP, although it has less blocking power than other swords. Its description explains this as the sword's protective power failing to remain functional within the world of Soulcalibur.
  • In Hyrule Warriors, it does not appear as a weapon, but it does appear as a series of badges (once again referred to as the Great Fairy Sword) that can be crafted for Link, Lana and Princess Zelda. These badges add new combo attacks for some of their movesets.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Great Fairy's Sword is registered as an inventory item rather than as an upgraded sword (as opposed to the Biggoron's Sword in Ocarina of Time).
  • It is the largest sword that Child Link can wield and his only two-handed sword.
