Sonny Resetti, commonly known as Mr. Resetti is a mole who acts as a recurring character in the Animal Crossing series. He is known for breaking the fourth wall and chastising the player for resetting the game.

Background

He works for the Reset Inventory Bureau. Anytime the player resets the game, Mr. Resetti appears the next time they play and lectures the player. Each time the player resets, Mr. Resetti gets more angry. On Sundays, Mr. Resetti visits the Roost for some coffee.

On some occasions, Mr. Resetti's brother, Don will show up in his place. Don is considerably calmer than his sibling and spends more time excusing the other than scolding the player for resetting. Don does not return for Animal Crossing: Wild World.

• In the Super Smash Bros. series, Mr. Resetti initially appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an Assist Trophy. When summoned, he would lecture the players, with his speech bubbles obscuring some of the action onscreen, and he would cause an explosion if attacked. His assist trophy has not returned in later games, but he has also appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, two trophies (one of which was entitled "Mr. Resetti (Feet)" and was of him standing above ground) and a sticker (from Wild World) in Brawl, a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, a Smash Tour item (that can reduce an opponent's states to zero for one battle) in the Wii U game and an Ace-rank Primary Spirit (which reduced jumping ability) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • He is also mentioned in the Palutena's Guidance conversation about the Villager, where Viridi mentions "a mole that goes around punishing cheaters", and Pit responds by calling out Resetti's name.
• In Super Mario Maker, an 8-bit sprite of Mr. Resetti (half-submerged in the ground) appears as a potential Mystery Mushroom costume that Mario can transform into. He could be unlocked by completing a 100 Mario Challenge on Normal or harder, or by scanning an amiibo of Resetti.
• Mr. Resetti appears as an obstacle in the Animal Crossing course of Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He will pop out of the ground, but he will not appear during winter..
• In Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, a Yoshi pattern based on Resetti's appearance could be unlocked by scanning his amiibo.
