The Pirate Homeworld is an unnamed planet that is the origin of the Space Pirates.

Little is known about the Pirate Homeworld, save that it is seemingly the origin of the Space Pirate species. The planet itself is completely toxic and the surface is constantly barraged by acid rain. The source of the acid rain is unknown, but may be a result of long term pollution. The Space Pirates are adapted to survive in the rain, either through technology or evolution. The harsh conditions make it difficult for even the Chozo Power Suit to endure.
Although the Pirate Homeworld is the origin of the Pirates, the planet Zebes has been an important base for the Space Pirates. During the Phazon crisis, Space Pirates that had been brainwashed by Dark Samus helped to bring a Leviathan on to the Pirate Homeworld. This resulted in a brief struggle by the non-afflicted Space Pirates to ward off the Leviathan, but in the end it landed and the planet was poisoned with Phazon.
During is poisoned state, it was infiltrated by Gandrayda, a bounty hunter working for the Galactic Federation. She was corrupted and like the pirates, began working under Dark Samus. Weeks later, Samus Aran showed up on the Pirate Homeworld and was able to infiltrate their command centers and disable their planetary defenses. What followed was a struggle that saw the Space Pirates defeated by the Federation. Samus Aran then neutralized the Leviathan and halted the spread of Phazon on the planet.
Following this, the planet was conquered and Federation Marines were installed to keep the Space Pirates from returning.

Due to the Acid Rain, no life is seen outside of the Space Pirate infrastructure. What exists in the Space Pirate base is a variety of hardy lifeforms that have been tainted by Phazon poisoning. The Pirate installation itself is composed of a command center, several drilling sites, and an extremely well guarded pathway leading to the Leviathan. Because of the distance of each installation, the areas are connected by transit stations.
