Pokémon Rumble Blast (known in Japan as Super Pokémon Scramble and Europe as Super Pokémon Rumble) is a spin-off of the Pokémon game for the 3DS. It is a sequel to the WiiWare title Pokémon Rumble, and it is notable as the first full Pokémon game for the 3DS as well as the first spin-off of the fifth generation games (discounting the Japan-only title Battle & Get! Pokémon Typing DS.

Story[edit]

This game is set in a world known as Toyland. The local Light Springs have been drying up, and it appears to be the doing of Cobalion. The player must find and stop Cobalion while meeting various other Pokémon along the way. The player starts off with a Pikachu.

Gameplay[edit]

The gameplay is primarily reprised from the WiiWare title. The player controls toy versions of Pokémon and can battle other Pokémon in a variety of stages with a chance of befriending them afterwards, and each stage is overseen by different boss Pokémon. There is also added multiplayer capability, as two players can play together cooperatively in completed areas and work together in obtaining more of the Toy Pokémon. This is also supplemented by two new modes, a Team Battle and Charge Battle mode. The game also has StreetPass capabilities through which the player can challenge Pokémon that another player has defeated and view their Miis.

While the first game had featured the then-most recent generation of Pokémon (the fourth) matched with the first generation, this game has all the Pokémon from all five generations (with the exception of the fifth generation's unrevealed event Pokémon).
