Porygon2 is an evolved form of Porygon that as introduced in the second generation games. Initially established as the last of its evolutionary line, it was later discovered to evolve into Porygon-Z in the fourth generation games.

Information[edit]

Porygon2 evolves from Porygon when it is traded while holding the Upgrade item, thus technically making it an upgraded form of Porygon rather than a traditional evolution. Created by scientists with more advanced technology, it was designed for space exploration but could not fly. It was also reported to sometimes perform unprogrammed actions. This seems to be because it was given a form of artificial intelligence which allows it to learn new gestures and emotions on its own. Although it was upgraded to enable exploration of other planets and had planetary development software installed, it apparently failed to measure up.

Porygon2 evolves into Porygon-Z when it is traded while holding a Dubious Disc.
