Talo is one of the child characters appearing in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Background[edit]
Talo was one of the youths living in Ordon Village. His younger brother was the entrepreneurial Malo, and together they usually caused trouble in the village. They were usually accompanied by Beth, who chastised them for their immaturity. They also teased Colin. Talo was eager to do something about the monkeys from the nearby forest that played tricks on them, so he began pestering Beth to let them have a slingshot and admired Link's prowess with several weapons. Talo had Link teach him how to use a sword, and the three children later chased a monkey into the forest. Malo and Beth fell behind while Talo and the monkey wound up being captured. The monkey had actually tried to defend him, and Talo realized that she was actually nice. Link later rescued them, and Talo proceeded to lie about the details of the story to make him look better in front of his peers.
He later forced Link to lend him his wooden sword by blocking the path to the spring where Ilia was waiting. Talo thought that this would give him a better chance of fending off enemies than the play sword he had been previously using. However, it turned out to be useless when the village was soon raided by Bokoblins. All of the children were captured, and the wooden sword was dropped and broken in the ensuing struggle. Most of the children, including Talo, were later rescued and brought to Kakariko Village under Renado's protection. He assured Beth that Link would show up, and Link eventually was reunited with them at Kakariko. Talo became impressed with Colin after he risked his life to save Beth, and he also became annoyed with his brother due to his activities opening his own shop. Talo wanted to help in his own way and so volunteered to station himself atop an observation platform, from which he acted as the village's lookout. He would report Link's wolf form as a monster and warn the village. Talo also had Link show him how to use a bow and was impressed by his skills. The children were later returned to Ordon at the end of the game.
