A master list of units featured in the game Battalion Wars.
Infantry[edit]
Rifle Grunt[edit]
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Infantry | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Rifle Grunts are the lowest level infantry and easily outmatched by Veteran infantry. However their M17 Automatic Rifles have the longest range of infantry, making them ideal for taking down distant infantry. |
Assault Veteran[edit]
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Infantry, Light Armor | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Assault Veterans are like upgraded Rifle Grunts that use even more powerful M70 Machine Guns for more powerful rounds, but lack the long range of Rifle Grunt. Because of their firepower, they are reasonably effective against lightly armored ground troops and aircraft. |
Flame Veteran[edit]
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Infantry, Jeeps | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Flame Veterans are equipped with "Thermidor" high-pressure incendiary projectors that can easily dispatch infantry, especially in high numbers. Exposed jeeps are also vulnerable to flames, but have no effect against tanks and cannot reach aircraft. |
Bazooka Veteran[edit]
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Armored Units | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bazooka Veterans use powerful rocket-propelled projectile launchers that wreak havoc on slow armored units, especially tanks. However bazooka fire is easier to avoid by more agile units, making them relatively ineffective against infantry and aircraft. |
Missile Veteran[edit]
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Aircraft | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Missile Veterans are armed with radar-controller Silverfish Anti-Air Missiles that allow them to hit air units with a high degree of accuracy. However in low altitudes, these missiles will often spiral out of control, which is a tactic often used by Gunships. |
Crew: 1 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 0 | Target: Concealed Units | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Mortar Veterans specialize in shooting grenades over walls using their "Groundhog" 50mm Parabolic Grenade Launchers. This allows them to clear out enemies without counter attack. Their grenades are also effective against vehicles, but can't reach aircrafts. |
Ground Units[edit]
Light Tank[edit]
Crew: 2 | Speed: 3 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 3 | Target: Infantry, Vehicles | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Light Tanks are the staple of the military. The Herman Mk5 has been used by the Western Frontier for many years. The Light Tank is faster than its larger counterpart, but lack the firepower and armor of its larger counterpart. Like all vehicles, its vulnerable to rockets and air attacks. |
Heavy Tank[edit]
Crew: 3 | Speed: 2 | Weapon: 3 | Armor: 4 | Target: Infantry, Vehicles | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Heavy Tanks are among the strongest units in the army. The Frontier uses the Herman M1A5 or "Herminator" that is equipped with twin barrel cannon and two Hubert and Cumbernaid machine guns. However its lack of speed and maneuverability makes it easy pickings for gunships and bazooka vets. |
Light Recon[edit]
Crew: 2 | Speed: 5 | Weapon: 1 | Armor: 1 | Target: Infantry, Vehicles | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Light Recons or MX-500s are the fastest units in the Western Frontier's ground division. The units is not exceptional in terms of firepower, but is useful for reconnaissance and taking out infantry and capable of avoiding rocket fire. |
Heavy Recon[edit]
Crew: 3 | Speed: 4 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 2 | Target: Infantry, Vehicles | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Heavy Recon is armed with dual-turret, pintle-mounted .50 caliber HMGs. This makes it particularly effective at sting raids raids against infantry units. Although it is fast enough to avoid rocket fire, its weak armor makes it weak to heavy fire. |
Anti-Air Vehicle[edit]
Crew: 2 | Speed: 2 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 3 | Target: Aircraft | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Prometheus AIM-9RR mobile missile platform is extremely effective at dishing out massive damage to aircraft. Unlike Missile Veterans, a single AA Vehicle is enough to take down most aircraft quickly and effectively. Although its missiles can be used on ground units, they rarely hit their target and generally spiral out of control. |
Artillery[edit]
Crew: 2 | Speed: 2 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 3 | Target: Ground Units | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Preacher Pk-772 has the longest reach of any other unit. Although slow, the unit is best used in a stationary location where its incredible range can barrage the enemy forces. For extra protection the artillery is equipped with a mounted MPG for infantry, but this provides only minimum defense for the cumbersome unit. |
Battlestation[edit]
Crew: 6 | Speed: 1 | Weapon: 6 | Armor: 5 | Target: Infantry, Vehicles | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The T-500 Battlestation is the absolute powerhouse of the ground forces. The vehicle boasts double double-barreled battle-cannons, two side anti-vehicle turrets, and three rear mounted .50 MPG caliber HMGs. This massive amount of weaponry makes it near invincible to ground forces, but its lack of anti-air weaponry makes it easy prey for aircrafts. |
Aircraft[edit]
T-Copter[edit]
Crew: 6 | Speed: 2 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 4 | Target: None | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The C-Type Samson is the Western Frontier's most effective means for inserting troops into the middle of a battle zone when reinforcements are an absolute must. The T-Copter however has very little defensive capability and must rely on its thick armor to withstand enemy barrage. This is the only unit in the game that cannot be controlled by the player. |
Bomber[edit]
Crew: 3 | Speed: 3 | Weapon: 3 | Armor: 4 | Target: Ground Units | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Valentine B-58 is a thickly armored aircraft that delivers a deadly payload of fuel-air bombs on the enemy. Although it has two HMG blisters mounted on the rear, it has little defense against Fighters due to its inferior speed. |
Fighter[edit]
Crew: 2 | Speed: 6 | Weapon: 2 | Armor: 3 | Target: Aircraft | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The F-19 Poltergeist is the most advanced fighter jet in the Frontier and features twin air-to-air Silverfish missile bays. With its high speeds and powerful missile compliment, the Fighter can take down most aircraft with ease. However its missiles have little effect on ground units and tend to spiral off rather than hit their target. |
Gunship[edit]
Crew: 3 | Speed: 3 | Weapon: 3 | Armor: 3 | Target: Ground Units | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Duey AH-86 Gunship is often one of the most deadly of all aircrafts. Unlike bombers who have to make repeated passes over a unit, the Gunship can remain stationary as it unleashes a barrage of attacks on the enemy. The Gunship is extremely effective against tanks, but its low speed leaves it susceptible to fighters. |
Strato Destroyer[edit]
Crew: 7 | Speed: 3 | Weapon: 7 | Armor: 5 | Target: Ground Units, Aircraft | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The B-5000 Strato Destroyer is the king of the skies. It combines both the air-to-air missiles of Fighters with the destructive barrage of explosives of the Bombers. The Strato's armor is extremely thick, giving it very few weaknesses. However its low speeds and lack of rear guns can make it an easy target for fighters. |
