Volcarona is a rare and powerful flaming moth Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the evolved form of Larvesta.
Information[edit]
Volcarona evolves from Larvesta at Level 59. It is a very powerful flame Pokémon with six wings. Its wings scatter their ember scales during battle, so oftentimes the sites of battles with Volcarona become engulfed by seas of fire. Apparently, when volcanic ash darkened the atmosphere, Volcarona's fire was able to act as a substitute for the sun.
Ryoku of Team Galactic makes an attempt to find Volcarona within the Relic Castle in Black and White, but he ultimately fails due to being caught by Hilbert/Hilda and Looker before he could reach Volcarona's sanctum.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, a single Volcarona appears at the end of the maze at the bottom of the Relic Castle.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "volcano" with "corona" (which refers to the outline of a sun which could be seen during a solar eclipse).
