Weepinbell is a plant-like Pokémon from the first generation games. It is the middle form of Bellsprout's evolutionary line and evolves into Victreebel.
Information[edit]
It evolves from Bellsprout at Level 21, losing the former's body-like system of vines. They attack most prey by spitting out poisonpowder to immobilize them and then acid to finish them off. It will swallow anything that moves when hungry and melt it with its strong acids. Despite being filled with deadly acid, Weepinbell releases a neutralizing fluid to protect itself from melting as well. Weepinbell will also use its razor-sharp leaves to cut down larger prey into morsels to consume.
A Weepinbell has a large hook on its rear end that it uses to hang itself from a tree branch and go to sleep at night. They usually wind up on the ground if they move in their sleep. Weepinbell evolves into Victreebel when exposed to a Leaf Stone.
Appearances[edit]

In the Diamond/Pearl arc, Platina's butler Sebastian owned a Weepinbell that he used against intruders.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name is a combination of "weeping" (which refers to a plant that is dropping) and "bell" (which refers to its bell shape).
