Kirby is a small, spherical creature with large, red feet and stubby arms. He is soft and flexible, allowing him to be squished or to expand. He lives on the planet Popstar in a domed house in Dream Land. He is cheerful and doesn't speak often.
Background
The NES/Gameboy Adventures
Kirby's adventures begin when King Dedede steals all of the food in Dream Land. Kirby decides to get it back. Kirby and King Dedede meet in the ring and battle it out. Having won, Kirby returned the food to the inhabitants of Dream Land.
Later, Kirby was taking a nap when he woke up without having a dream. Suspicious, he visits the Fountain of Dreams to discover King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod and broken it into seven pieces. Kirby traveled across Dream Land and recovered the pieces. Upon putting them together, a dark aura called Nightmare appeared. He had corrupted the Star Rod and King Dedede was trying to protect Dream Land. Kirby manages to defeat Nightmare and restore peace to Dreamland.
The SNES/Gameboy Adventures
Kirby's next adventure is to save the rainbows that connect the islands of Dream Land. King Dedede is behind it, but he's possessed by a being called Dark Matter. With the help of Rick the Hamster, Coo the Owl, and Kine the Ocean Sunfish, Kirby is able to defeat Dark Matter.
Kirby's next adventure was to defeat Dyna Blade, a giant bird terrorizing the land. Upon defeating the bird, he discovered she has chicks and helped raise them.
Next, Kirby went to discover the Great Cave Offensive. He got lost and had to find his way out. By the time he was out, he had found a lot of treasure.
After that, Meta Knight tried to take over Dream Land using his airship Halberd. Kirby boarded the ship with the help of Dyna Blade. He got knocked off, but managed to get back on and defeat Meta Knight.
Having defeated Meta Knight, Kirby had to defeat Marx, who wants to conquer the galaxy. Kirby managed to revive NOVA, who will grant one wish. Marx, however, managed to get his wish before Kirby did. Kirby, however, managed to defeat a much more powerful Marx.
Having returned to Popstar, Kirby has little time to relax before trouble rears its heads. Dark Matter has once again taken over King Dedede. Kirby, along with friends, managed to defeat him.
The Nintendo 64/Gameboy Color Adventures
Kirby's next adventure toke place in a heart-shaped planet populated with fairies, Heart Star. It was also the home of a crystal which has caught Dark Matter's eye. During the struggle, the Crystal broke. Kirby put the crystal together again and defeat Dark Matter.
The Gamecube/Gameboy Advance Adventures
On Kirby's next adventure, Mirror Land is threatened. Meta Knight attempted to protect it, but was defeated by Dark Meta Knight. Kirby, who came to help, was attacked by Dark Meta Knight. As a result, Kirby was divided into four parts: pink, yellow, green, and red. After many battles, he caught up with Dark Meat Knight, only to discover that a being called Dark Mind was behind everything.
The DS/Wii Adventures
One day, a mysterious witch appeared out of a portal in the sky. The witch, Drawcia, cast a spell over Dream Land to turn it into a world of paint. Kirby pursues Drawcia into her own world of paint. She curses Kirby, removing his limbs. However, Kirby is able to roll. Kirby manages to get to Drawcia and defeat her.
On his latest adventure, Kirby starts off on a picnic. Suddenly, his food is stolen. He decides that Kind Dedede is behind it and goes to punish him. On the way, he comes upon some treasure and a group of thieves called the Squeak Squad who are after the same treasure. After Kirby went to Dedede's castle, he defeated Dedede. The Squeak Squad took advantage of the confusion and stole a treasure that they believe "grants you ultimate power." They try to get away, but King Dedede trows Kirby at them and knocks them all into a pit. Kirby went into the pit and got all of the treasure back.
Abilities
Kirby's main ability is the ability to suck enemies in to his mouth and swallow them. Sometimes, he gains a special ability by swallowing them. He can also spit them out to damage enemies. In addition, he can suck in air to make himself light enough to fly.
