Golduck is the evolved form of Psyduck that was introduced in the first generation Pokémon games.

Information

Golduck evolves from Psyduck at Level 33. Unlike Psyduck, it is tall and blue, and its body has a more humanoid form. It has long and slender limbs that end in flippers, which allow it to swim gracefully in lakes. This leads to it often being confused for the Japanese monster Kappa by some onlookers. It is fond of lakes and slow-moving rivers, and it appears by waterways at dusk. Its webbed flippers and streamlined bodies allow it to move at frightening speeds, and it is considered the best swimmer among Pokémon. They can even outswim human swimming champions and will often join competitive swimmers in training.

Their use of psychic powers is usually signified by their forehead glowing mysteriously. It also glows when Golduck is swimming at high speeds. Golduck can swim effortlessly in a stormy sea, and because of this Golduck have been known to rescue people stranded out at sea after shipwrecks.

In Pokémon: Red, Blue and FireRed, Golduck could rarely be found at Seafoam Islands, only appearing on land in the first generation.
