Throh is a small red humanoid Pokémon that practices the martial art of judo and was introduced in the fifth generation games. It has no evolutionary line but is accompanied by the counterpart Sawk.

Information[edit]

Throh are short Pokémon that usually try to throw foes bigger than themselves. Wild Throh have been known to use vines to make their own belts for their judo gis. When their belts tighten, they get stronger. Throh always travel in packs of five.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Throh can be found at Routes 10, 15, 18, outside Pinwheel Forest and Victory Road Gate. In White they appear uncommonly, but in Black they are rarer and can only be found in shaking grass.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Throh was found at the canyon area of Volcanic Slope. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Throh is a competitor at the Colosseum in the Crag Area and is befriended by defeating it in a battle following the battle with Sawk.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Throh's first appearance was a cameo during the introduction of the White version of the fourteenth movie where Pikachu was attacking it.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Throh was featured as one of Marshal's Pokémon.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name, of course, is a pun on "throw", the action which is the basis of judo moves.
  • Throh traveling in packs of five is a reference to the fact that real judo teams consist of five members.
