Parasect is the evolved form of Paras from the first generation Pokémon games.

Information[edit]

Parasect can evolve from an Paras at Level 24. In this stage, the parasitic mushroom has taken complete control over the host insect's body. The mushroom drains its energy and does Parasect's thinking for it. It usually stays in dark, damp places due to the mushroom's preferences. When a Parasect is completely drained of energy, the mushroom will then leave spores on its egg.

It releases toxic spores from its large mushroom cap which, strangely enough, are used as herbal medicine in China. The larger the mushroom on Parasect's back, the stronger are the spores it scatters. Parasect infect large trees in mass numbers and drain nutrients from the lower tree and roots until it dies, at which point they move on to another tree.
