Raticate is a large, rat-like Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation games. It is the evolved form of Rattata.

Raticate evolves from Rattata at Level 20. It is larger and fatter, as well as having a different fur color. Raticate can stand on their hind legs, with their whiskers allowing them to keep balance. In Pokémon: Red and Blue, Raticate can be commonly found at Routes 16, 17, 18 and 21. In Yellow, they are found at Routes 9, 10, 11, 16, 18 and 21 as well as in the Pokémon Mansion. In FireRed and LeafGreen, they are only found at Routes 16, 17 and 18 and the Pokémon Mansion and are uncommon.

In Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Raticate are uncommonly found at Routes 7, 9, 10, 26, 27, 38 and 39 as well as in Union Cave and Burned Tower. In Crystal, they additionally appeared at Routes 1, 3, 4, 6, 11, 21, 42 and 43 as well as Mt. Mortar and Tohjo Falls. In HeartGold/SoulSilver, they still appear at Mt.
