Parasect is the evolved form of Paras from the first generation Pokémon games.

Parasect can evolve from an Paras at Level 24. In this stage, the parasitic mushroom has taken complete control over the host insect's body. The mushroom drains its energy and does Parasect's thinking for it. It usually stays in dark, damp places due to the mushroom's preferences. When a Parasect is completely drained of energy, the mushroom will then leave spores on its egg.

In Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed and LeafGreen, they are uncommonly found at the Safari Zone and Cerulean Cave. In Yellow, the player can also trade a Tangela for one on Route 16.
They appear rarely within Silver Cave in Crystal, while appearing more commonly within Cerulean Cave in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
