The game is similar to battles with Aganhim and Phantom Ganon in previous games in that they fire energy balls which can be deflected at them with Link's sword. The main difference from those battles is that this time there are four of them, and sometimes the energy ball will bounce back and forth between several of them before hitting one of them or flying back towards Link. Eventually all four are destroyed.

Gongoron can stun Dongorongo by slamming into its unarmored areas, and Link could hurt the stunned Dongorongo by sending Bombchus into its mouth. Dongorongo appears to be defeated at one point, and a bridge actually forms for Link, but it then returns to life and tries to attack Link when he is stranded on the circular platform. Dongorongo loses parts of its armor, revealing a blue crystal that is its weakness. It breathes fire and tries to suck Link in, but Link can stun Dongorongo by feeding it bombs and then attacks its crystal until Dongorongo is destroyed. Its heads protrude from a room full of water, and each had is a different color as well as being associated with a different element. One head spits fire while the other spits ice. They also try to bite Link and cause small tremors that drop ice crystals or temporarily flood Link's platform. Link battles Gleeok by setting the rope of the grappling hook between pegs in ways to deflect one head's blast towards the other head, as one head was vulnerable to the other's attacks. After both masks are destroyed, they destroy two of the pegs and take turn charging up exceptionally powerful blasts to spit at Link. It sticks out its tongue when it inhales, and at that point Link can use the grappling hook on its tongue to reel the head in at which point he can directly attack it with his sword. This leads to Gleeok's destruction and opens the way to the temple's Azurine.

Its body is composed of a wooden frame beneath a stone exterior, and its movements are slow and lumbering. It is large enough to take up both screens of the DS. Eox at first attacks primarily with its fists as well as arrows fired from turrets on its neck. In battle, Link first uses the hammer to launch himself in the air and to attack pegs on Eox's body. This causes its stone armor to slowly crumble away. After all of its armor is gone, Link had to send himself up to Eox's face and hit all four of the buttons there in one leap. This causes Eox's body to collapse, but its head is still intact. Eox's head then leaps around and begins rapidly firing its arrows in a last-ditch effort to stop Link. Link then must catapult himself to the top of Eox's head and attack the blue crystal there. This leads to Eox's destruction, at which point Link can find the Aquanine.

Cyclok can be an extrememly tiring battle if you dont realize how to knock him from his heavenly perch. When you see a small tornado below him, you must throw a bomb into it, effectively shooting the bomb into the sky and blowing up his cloud, knocking him out of the sky. Take some stabs at him and repeat the process until he goes down.

Crayk, Bane of courage

Now this is a strange boss battle. Crayk is invisible, and you can only guess where he is from using the top screen, which shows things from his eyes. Once you figure out his location, you can shoot him with an arrow, stunning him long enough for you to shoot the bulges on his shell. Once all of the bulges are destroyed, his shell will explode, revealing his  vulnerable point, his tail. Shoot him in the face with an arrow, and run behind to his tail. Hack away until he falls.

Diabolical Cubus Sisters

Reminiscant of Blind the thief, the Cubus sisters mascarade as damsels in distress on the ghost ship, disperssed throughout the first several floors of the ship. Once reunited, they will gripe to eachother, wondering how Link survived the reaplings and poes. They will reveal themselves and challenge link to a game of volley ball, with an energy ball, reminiscant of the battle wqith Shadow Ganon in the Wind Waker, and Agahnim, among others. Once all four are defeated they will give you the key to Tetras holding cell.

Bosses[edit]

  • Blaaz, Master of Fire
    • Blaaz is the first boss of the game's bosses found in the Temple of Fire. A relatively simple battle, he will split apart into three small Blaazes, and Link must use the boomerang to fuse them together. However, the mini Blaazes must be combined in the proper order; they appear on the map screen with anywhere between one and three horns, with one being the first to catch with the boomerang and three the last. Once fused, Link can hack away at Blaaz until he is destroyed. Defeating Blaaz will free Leaf, the Spirit of Power.
  • Cyclok, Stirrer of Winds
    • Cyclock is an Octorok-like creature that rides atop a tornado. He is the boss of the Temple of Wind, and is found at the peak of the tower. He will send out miniature tornadoes to attack Link. However, Link can knock Cyclok from his heavenly perch similar to Vaati by tossing bombs into the tornado so that they explode and knock down Cyclock. At this point Cyclock is stunned and vulnerable to attack. After being destroyed, he leaves behind Neri, the Spirit of Wisdom.
  • Crayk, Bane of Courage
    • Crayk is a giant hermit crab-like creature that is the boss of the Temple of Courage. The top screen shows Crayk's point of view throughout the points of the battle where he is invisible.
