Yaridovich is the last boss faced in the fourth world of Super Mario RPG, and he is the third member of the Smithy Gang to appear.
Background
Yaridovich is a spear-like machine created by Smithy in his factory. Yaridovich was sent to find the Star Piece hidden near Seaside Town. He certainly took a unique approach to finding it. Yaridovich kidnapped and imprisoned everyone in the town. He then split his body into multiple pieces, each of which took on the form of a different Toad and inhabited a house in Seaside Town. In these forms, Yaridovich tried to trick Mario into fighting Jonathan Jones for the Star Piece.
After Mario returned with the Star Piece, Yaridovich revealed the truth and tricked Mario into handing over all five of the stars he had collected. Yaridovich attempted to flee. However, Smithy's airship Blade was late, and the path to the sea was blocked by an angry Jonathan Jones. Yaridovich had no choice but to assume his true form and attack Mario. Yaridovich was overpowered and destroyed in the ensuing battle, leaving behind the stolen Star Pieces and the key to the house where all the villagers were imprisoned.
Much weaker monochrome "Machine Made" clones of Yaridovich were still created on an assembly line in Smithy's Factory until it was destroyed. What appears to be the real Yaridovich (but is likely someone in costume) appears in the ending parade along with the other seemingly scrapped machines.

Yaridovich demonstrated the abilities of shape-shifting and splitting his ability into multiple parts, often in conjugation. In battle Yaridovich would often use his body-splitting ability to confuse Mario's group by summoning a fake Yaridovich. The fake could be determined by his lower stats or through Mallow's Psychopath ability. Yaridovich also used his spear in battle, with attacks such as Pierce. His other special abilities included Water Blast, Willy Whisp and Flame Stone. Yaridovich's weak point was Thunder attacks.
Oddly enough, the Machine Made Yaridoviches also demonstrated the ability to transform into multiple smaller units known as Drill Bits.
Trivia
- Yaridovich's name is spun off from "yari", the Japanese word for "spear".
