Laura is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. She is the first healing unit available in the game.

Background

Laura was raised in an church orphanage in Kisca, Daein. She was childhood friends with Aran, and the two formed a close bond until Aran was adopted by merchants from Begnion. Laura herself remained at the orphanage and became a priest. However, in "Part 1: Silver-Haired Maiden" of Radiant Dawn, her abbott had fallen sick. The medicine he needed was among the goods that the corrupt Begnion soldiers had hoarded away in the manor house. So Laura sought the aid of the Dawn Brigade to steal back the medicine. In "Chapter 2: The Dispossessed", Laura met with them and convinced them to help her break into the manor house. They were able to retrieve the medicine that the abbott needed. However, following the battle, Laura was captured by General Jarod, who used her as bait in order to arrest Micaiah as well.

Micaiah and Laura were imprisoned in Glaive Prison until Sothe arrived and set them free in "Chapter 3: A Faint Light". During the ensuing battle, Laura was reunited with Aran, who was fighting alongside the Begnion troops. Laura convinced him to switch sides in order to help them, and Aran complied because Laura was like a younger sister to him. Laura and Aran worked with the Dawn Brigade in their following missions, thinking of them by the misconceived name "honorable bandits". After the battle for Daein's indepence was won, she remained in the ranks of the Daein Royal Army and fought alongside them in various chapters of "Part 3: Intersecting Vows". She was also featured in a Base Conversation of "Chapter 13: Blood Contract", when Aran gave her a staff that he thought she had dropped, although she did not. It turned out to be a Sleep Staff, which Laura accidentally and unknowingly used on Aran.

After the wars ended, Laura returned to her church and became a mother to many orphans. All of the children there came to love her gentle demeanor.
