Ogma is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi as well as the remakes Monshou no Nazo and Shadow Dragon. He is the first playable mercenary in the game (and the series as a whole).
Background[edit]
Ogma was a mercenary who was known as an adept swordsmen. His life changed once when he helped Samto and his friends escape from a coliseum at Knorda (most likely they had been kept as slaves), as he was caught by the guards while Samto and the others escaped. Ogma was taken to the coliseum and whipped, but did not reveal their whereabouts and luckily was discovered by the young princess of Talys, Caeda. She protected and rescued him, which led Ogma to enter himself into the service of Talys.
Book One[edit]
When Marth and Caeda were departing from Talys, the king assigned him to accompany them and watch over Caeda. He took his men Barst, Bord and Cord with him, and they joined with Marth at the beginning of Chapter 2, in time to help fend off attacking pirates. Although he was asked to watch over Caeda, she convinced him that she did not need protection and wanted him to look after Marth instead. After the war's end, Ogma returned to Talys. It is believed that he did not have good luck with the ladies, as no marriage records exist for him.
Book Two[edit]
Three years later, Ogma was sent by King Talys to work with General Lorenz (an ally in the previous war) in protecting Yubello and Yumino, the two heirs to Grust's throne. When Commander Lang's forced (aided by a manipulated Marth) pressed in on Lorenz's headquarters, he entrusted the children to Ogma and told him to escort them to Wendel in Khadein. Ogma made his way towards Khadein, but at the same time he became intent on avenging Lorenz's death by killing Lang. In Chapter 4, they joined up with Marth's army (who by then had rebelled against Lang) as well as the mysterious Sirius who helped to protect the children. Following this war's conclusion, Ogma simply vanished.
Other Appearances[edit]
