Pokémon Pinball is an early spin-off of the Pokémon series which reinterprets the games into a pinball game.
Gameplay
The game operates the same as any pinball game. Aside from featuring Pokémon-themed tables, the other factor separating this from normal Pokémon games is that the actual ball is a Pokéball and one goal on each table is to capture and evolve Pokémon, which are collected in the Pokédex. The game contains the 151 Pokémon types from Pokémon: Red, Green and Blue Versions, and there are different pinball tables for each location featured in the game. Addition, the player can select between a Red and Blue table to mimic the choice between the Red or Blue versions of the Pokémon games.
Legacy
Sequels
Although there was no game released for the second generation Pokémon, Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire was eventually released for the Gameboy Advance as a spin-off of the third-generation Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire Versions. The game is mostly similar but with several gameplay tweaks or improvements.
