Porygon-Z is an evolved form of Porygon2 (and the last stage of Porygon's evolution) introduced in the fourth generation games.

Information

Porygon-Z evolves from Porygon2 when traded while holding the Dubious Disc. Apparently, additional software had been installed to make it a better Pokémon and capable of exploring alien dimensions, but it began acting oddly. It has a glitchy nature, likely due to the suspect software (the Dubious Disc) used to evolve it.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

It can only be obtained through evolution from the fourth generation games onward.

Other Games

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and Time, Porygon-Z could only be obtained through evolution. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appears in the Oil Field Hideout, and in Pokémon Rumble it is found at Eternal Tower.

Trivia

  • Porygon-Z and its pre-evolved form, Porygon2, are the only two Pokémon not to appear in the Pokémon anime, likely due to the stigma from the seizures caused in Japan by the first season episode featuring Porygon.
