Debut Pokémon: Emerald Version

Tucker is one of the seven Frontier Brains of Hoenn's Battle Frontier appearing in Pokémon: Emerald Version. He is the Dome Ace in charge of the Battle Dome.

Background

Tucker was an egotistical trainer known for his flamboyant wardrobe and his superstar attitude. He oversaw the tournaments that took place in the Battle Dome and would challenge the winner of five and then ten subsequent tournaments to a battle. After being defeated by Brendan/May for the first time in Emerald, Tucker was taken aback, but he decided to grant them the Tactics Symbol in order to honor the tournament's rules. He took the second defeat more gracefully, praising the trainer and telling them that they had potential to become a superstar like him before giving them a golden symbol.

Other Media

  • Tucker was featured in one episode of the Pokémon anime, where he was defeated by Ash Ketchum in a double battle at the Battle Dome.
  • He appears in the Pokémon Adventures manga during the Emerald arc, becoming Emerald's furious rival among the Frontier Brains when Emerald assaults him on the Battle Frontier's opening day. Tucker winds up being the fifth Frontier Brain whom Emerald faces, with Tucker actually participating in the tournaments. He defeats Sapphire and in the final round gives Emerald his first defeat in the Battle Frontier. However, after the Jirachi crisis is resolved Emerald demands to challenge the Battle Dome again so he could win the last symbol. Tucker agreed to re-open the Battle Dome but did not participate this time due to an injury gained in the final battles with Guile Hideout, with the ten Pokédex trainers competing instead. The Frontier Brains later appeared in the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire arc, where they defeated the leaders of Team Magma Neo and Team Aqua Neo, and they proceeded to help with the effort to stop Grand Meteor Delta.
