Toadette is a young Toad girl who joined in one Mario's sporting events, and even appeared in some of his actual adventures.

Background

Sports

Toadette makes her first appearance in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as an unlockable racer, unlocked by completing the 150cc Special Cup. Her personal kart is the Toadette Kart, and Toad is her partner. Toadette was also unlockable in Mario Superstar Baseball, and she was unlocked by completing Peach's Challenge Mode. She then appeared as an unlockable racer in Mario Kart Wii (where she was unlocked by playing Time Trials in 32 different courses).

Toadette appeared as an unlockable playable character in Mario Party 6, after depositing thirty stars in the Star Bank. She then became part of the regular Mario Party cast, making playable appearances in Mario Party 7 and Mario Party 8. She also makes a nonplayable appearance in Mario Party DS as host of the Toadette's Music Room board. In the second stage of the game's Story Mode, Toadette asks for Mario and company's help in defeating a Hammer Bro who was messing up her instruments, and after they did so she rewarded them with the second Sky Crystal.

Adventure Games

Toadette made a surprise appearance in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. She showed up whenever Mario learned a new move and taught him how to use it. She seemed quite sad when she finished teaching Mario the last move and had to say goodbye.

Toadette also appears in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix as the owner of an island hotel. When Mario and Toad accidentally twist the hotel into a corkscrew, she demands they fix it despite their hurry. After they use the power of dance to do so, Toadette warns them about the dangers of the sea, but is promptly ignored.

Trivia

  • Toadette's picture appears on a scoreboard in the opening sequence of Mario Power Tennis, but she does not appear elsewhere in the game.
  • Her team names in Mario Party 7 suggest a darker side to Toadette- when paired with Wario they are the "Secret Friends", with Waluigi the "Diabolical Duo", with Boo the "Terrifying Twosome" and with Koopa Kid the "Potent Pals".
  • Toadette appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game also contains a sticker of her from Mario Party 6 and one of her with Toad from Mario Party 7.
