Mario Party 7 is the seventh installment of the Mario Party series as well as fourth and final Mario Party game made for the Nintendo GameCube.

Story[edit]

Toadsworth has decided to give Mario and his friends a relief from their adventures by treating them to a luxury cruise around the world. However, Bowser is enraged at not being invited and wreaks havoc at their destinations.

Gameplay[edit]

This installment features similar gameplay to the previous installments. Two of the main modes are Party Cruise and the eight-player Deluxe Cruise (where two players can each share a controller). In the Solo Cruise, the player competes with another opponent in one of the boards, and the board can only be completed when certain criteria are reached, usually by obtaining the star at a particular place or collecting a certain amount of coins at a certain spot.

The orbs from the previous game are once more utilized, and Koopa Kid is omitted from the playable character selection (being relegated to a character with his own space) in place of the unlockable Birdo and Dry Bones. There are also five microphone minigames.

Legacy[edit]

Twelve minigames from this game would later be included in Mario Party: The Top 100.
