K.G. Misawa is a member of the Galactic Federation under the command of Adam Malkovich who was featured as a supporting character in Metroid: Other M.

Background

K.G. Misawa trained at the Galactic Federation Academy and at the Combat Technology Research Center. His primary role in battle was as a recon scout, and he did not seem to speak much. Misawa was part of Adam Malkovich's Seventh Battalion which investigated the Bottle Ship in Other M and worked with Samus Aran. When the battalion initially split up, Misawa was sent to conduct a sweep of the residential quarters in search of any survivors. They were later all called to the Exam Center in Sector 1, where he searched the building with Anthony Higgs and James Pierce as well as Samus.

The surviving members of the battalion were later called to gather in Sector 2, the Byrosphere, to perform a task at the Geothermal Power Plant. As he navigated the sector, he engaged in a tussle with another soldier. Although it is unclear who was who at the time, the events later in the game make it clear that James Pierce, the Deleter, was able the one who froze K.G. Misawa with his freeze gun, and he then tossed Misawa into the lava below. As this incinerated his body, no remains were found so he was only reported missing by the end.
