The Ice Rod is a weapon that appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Information
The Ice Rod is a special type of blue rod which fires out blue blasts of ice. These blasts will usually freeze their targets, although the Ice Rod is powerful enough that some enemies will instead be completely destroyed by it. The Ice Rod can be obtained early in the game and is hidden in a cave near Lake Hylia that has to be accessed by bombing a hidden passage. The Ice Rod is actually only necessary to fight Turtle Rock's boss, Trinexx, so it can be obtained at nearly any point in the adventure. The Ice Rod also will notably destroy the Lanmolas instantly.
Trivia
- The Ice Rod has been primarily replaced by Ice Arrows in later games.
