Other Appearances[edit]
Video Games[edit]
- In the Super Smash Bros. series, Isabelle was featured as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U and as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as an Isabelle costume being available for Mii Gunners in both games. As an Assist Trophy, she helped whoever summoned her by throwing fruit that could heal them. When she debuted as a playable character in Ultimate, she had a moveset based on that of the Villager's, but with various alterations such as her usage of a fishing line that could snatch players and could be used as a recovery move. In Ultimate, she could be unlocked through the game's variable-based system for unlocking characters or by awakening her within Adventure Mode (where she was found by the circular village area, at the end of a road that had to be accessed by riding a bus with the Spirit of Kapp'n).
- Isabelle has also been represented by a trophy (with an extra trophy of her with her sweater in the 3DS version) in the 3DS/Wii U installment, a Smash Tour item (which changes nearby status boosting items to maximum size) in the Wii U game and a Fighter Spirit (unlocked through her completion of Classic Mode or a Vault shop purchase) in Ultimate
- Isabelle's Classic Mode route was known as "Best in Show". It followed the theme of fighting against and/or alongside all of the other female characters in the game. The last pre-boss battle is against Sheik, and the route's boss is Master Hand (with Crazy Hand on higher difficulties).
- In Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, a costume of Isabelle's appearance could be obtained as armor for the cat-like Palico creatures. This costume was known as the Isabelle Guise Palico Armor.
- Isabelle appeared as a playable racer in Mario Kart 8 (as a DLC character) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
- In Miitopia, an outfit based on Isabelle's appearance could be obtained by scanning an amiibo.
- In Super Mario Maker, Isabelle appeared as two of the costumes that Mario could transform into with the Mystery Mushroom. One was based on her summer outfit and the other on her winter outfit. Each could be unlocked as random prize for completing a 100 Mario Challenge (on Normal or harder for the summer outfit, and Expert or harder for the winter outfit) or by scanning a respective amiibo.
- Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World also contained two Yoshi patterns based on Isabelle's summer and winter outfits, which could be unlocked by scanning the respective amiibos.
Trivia[edit]
- Isabelle's English name sounds like "is a bell", and it could refer to the bells on her ribbon or the resemblance of her head to a bag of Bells. Her Japanese name is simply Shizue, a Japanese word for "quiet branch" which also references her being a Shih Tzu.
- Her birthday is December 20th.
