Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo is a text-based adventure/mystery game released for the Famicom in 1989. The game was originally divided into two discs.

Story[edit]

The player controls a 13-year-old boy searching for his parents one night. While searching, a couple of men chase him. He runs run, only to be stopped by a third man. The other men catch up. It turns out the man who stopped him is a detective and the others are police officers. The police officers leave, and the detective takes the player character under his wing.

A few months later, sophomore Yōko Kojima from Ushimitsu high school is found dead at the bank of a river. It's quickly deduced that she died by strangulation. Ayumi Tachibana, a freshman at Ushimitsu high school, and Tatsuya Hibino, a teacher at the school, appear at the scene of the crime and are shocked at what they see. So, the mystery begins.

Gameplay[edit]

The game is a text adventure. The player can choose several commands from a menu or examine things by selecting them with an arrow. "Check" lets you see people's expressions or the area you're in. "Think" lets you go over the facts in your mind. "Show" lets you show others items of interest.

Legacy[edit]

A trophy of Ayumi Tachibana is available in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Ports and Remakes[edit]

All ports and remakes have contained both discs combined into one game.
