Famicom Wars is the first game in the series of the same name. It was released on the Famicom and never released outside of Japan. In later years, it has been rereleased on every iteration of the Japanese Virtual Console.
In December 2019, it was added to the library of Super NES games that were made available to play on the Nintendo Switch for anyone subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service. This version included two player and online options. As with its other releases, it was restricted to Japan.
