Debut Fire Emblem

Isadora is a playable unit in Fire Emblem and a knight of Pherae.

Background

Isadora was the youngest daughter of a country nobleman. Ever since her childhood, Isadora aspired to become a knight and protect Pherae from danger. She underwent many difficult hours in training, but she eventually eventually achieved her dream of becoming a Pheraean knight. Isadora became a fine knight, but she also suffered feelings of guilt for enemies she killed on the battlefield. Isadora fell in love with a fellow knight, Harken. One month prior to Eliwood's Tale in Fire Emblem, Harken set off with Elbert on an expedition. But before he left, Harken promised Isadora that they would get married upon his return. However, Harken went missing with Elbert.

Isadora was first seen in Taking Leave (Eliwood Chapter 11). After Eliwood embarked on a journey to find Elbert, Isadora was left in Pherae to protect Elenora. But after Eleanora received news of Elbert's death, she sent Isadora to join Eliwood's group and keep him safe in "New Resolve" (Eliwood Chapter 20, Hector Chapter 21). Isadora stayed with Eliwood for the rest of his journey and, depending on several variables, she was possibly reunited with Harken along the way.

Possible Fates

Isadora has four different endings, depending on whom she reaches A Rank Support with.

  • Default Ending- Isadora became an imperial knight and served as a guard to Lady Eleanora. She continued studying to be a lady until she was married (presumably to Harken).
  • Harken and Isadora's Ending- Isadora and Harken married shortly after returning to Pherae. They received blessings from Eliwood and Eleanora, at which point their love blossom. Many came to envy their good fortune.
  • Legault and Isadora's Ending- Isadora returned to Pherae while Legault returned to Bern. However, they remained in each others hearts. They meet again ten years later, but as enemies on the battlefield.
  • Renault and Isadora's Ending- Renault vanished after the final battle, leaving Isadora alone. She returned to Pherae as a member of the imperial guard. Years later, she entered the clergy of St. Elimine in hope of finding answers in the clergy.

Support Conversation Summaries

Isadora is capable of having Support conversations with seven other characters.

  • Geitz- A small bird begins living on Geitz's head and setting up a nest while Isadora and Geitz watch. Geitz wants it off and shouts that he is a solitary warrior, while Isadora is amused. In the second conversation, Isadora suggests naming the bird Wilson while Geitz is still looking for a way to get the bird off his head. He says he has tried feeding it some stuff he found lying around, and they decide to ask Merlinus about proper bird food. In the third conversation, the bird had finally left. Isadora says she heard that Geitz was on a journey with no destination for somewhere he could belong, and suggests that the bird was on a similar journey, and that it must have flown ahead to the place where both of them belong. Geitz insists that the bird meant nothing to him, and Isadora simply giggles.
  • Harken- In the first conversation, Isadora is hurt that Harken was gone for so long without contacting them and refuses to forgive him. In the second conversation, Harken apologizes and asks Isadora why she is so sad. She says that she is afraid Harken will leave her alone again. Harken promises to stay by her, but Isadora is too afraid to accept that promise. In the third conversation, Isadora tells Harken about all the pain she felt during Harken's absence. She reminds him of his promise to marry her, and Harken asks for a second chance at that promise. He says that after the war, they could return to Pherae and be married in a grand ceremony. He promises never to leave her behind again, and that they will always be together.
  • Legault- In the first conversation, Isadora asks Legault about the fighting skills of the Black Fang assassins, but Legault tells her they are overrated. He mentions that Linus and Lloyd themselves are great fighters, but Legault refers to him as an old leftover who is useless in battle. In the second conversation, Isadora challenges Legault to a sparring match at which point he reminds her she is overrated them. He tells her that assassins are weak by nature and accomplish their jobs through trickery, which Legault proves by fixing Isadora's scabbard during their conversation so that her sword was stuck. In the final conversation, Legault tells Isadora about how Eliwood's army reminds her of the old Black Fang and reminisces about the good old days. Isadora realizes she misunderstood all the Black Fang. Legault then asks Isadora if she has a man and tells the flustered knight that she should think about her love every now and then, since they were all human and living for battle would be sad. Legault mentions that if he were younger, he wouldn't let a woman like Isadora out of her sight, and she replies by asking if he's teasing her.
  • Lowen- Isadora meets with Lowen and learns of the hardships they have recently encountered, and they agree to fight alongside each other. After seeing that Isadora is at least slightly hungry, Lowen rolls out a blanket for her and starts to prepare a feast. This causes Isadora to wonder how he fought his way through all those harsh battles while stopping to have picnics during each battle. In the second Support conversation, Lowen offers Isadora found from his emergency rations, but she refuses to eat. Lowen wonders if it has anything to do with Harken's disappearance, but Isadora denies this. Isadora then comments that Lowen has developed as a knight and can become a great knight of Pherae, although Lowen is reluctant to accept these compliments. In the third Support conversation, Isadora once again refuses to eat Lowen's food but also thanks him for worrying about her wellbeing. Lowen then vows to one day become a great knight of Pherae whom Isadora, Marcus and even Harken could be proud of. Isadora is confident that he is dedicated enough to reach his goal, and she then decides to ride alongside him, as knights of Pherae.
  • Marcus- In the first conversation, Isadora apologizes for leaving her post at Lady Eleanora's side to join Eliwood's army, but Marcus reminds her that she was following Eleanora's wishes, and he sees no reason for her to apologize. In the second conversation, they discuss Eliwood and how troubled he is following his father's death. They decide to work as hard as they could to end the conflict so that Eliwood could return home to his mother's care. In the final conversation, Marcus warns Isadora not to overexert herself despite the great burdens on both of them and tells her she should not be ashamed to seek help. Isadora then thanks Marcus for his advice and for treating her like a first rank knight of Pherae instead of like a woman. She assures Marcus that they will both return to Pherae alive.
  • Renault- Isadora meets with Renault and says that she is honored to protect a bishop, being a believer in the teachings of St. Elimine. However, Renault says he is unworthy of being called a bishop and led a bloody life as a mercenary before becoming a bishop. He tells her he became a follower of Elimine following the death of a friend. In the second conversation, Isadora makes a confession to Renault. He tells her about her background and the guilt she sometimes feels from killing her opponents. But Renault says he is a fraud and can offer her no solace. In the third conversation, Renault notices that Isadora doesn't look good and tells her to survive so she can return to her village. He finally thinks up some advice for her problem, and he tells her to use her doubt to become something more, to make her human, instead of casting it aside to become a puppet that kills. He says that he has lived this way since he found himself, saying that some are sustained by faith, but there are no answers for him.
  • Sain- Sain first tries hitting on her, but Isadora then tries making a bet with Sain. She claims she would go out with Sain only if he could defeat her in a jousting match, so that Isadora could improve her training. Sain loses several times, but in the process both learn about the different styles of fighting in Caelin and Pherae. They decide to arrange a jousting match between Caelin and Pherae after the enemy was defeated, although Sain makes the mistake of reverting to his old self and trying to hit on her again.
