Drilbur is a mole-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. Its evolved form is Excadrill.

Information

Drilbur resembles a small mole with large claws. They burrow through the ground by putting these claws together and then rotating at a high speed. Drilbur can dig through soil at a speed of 30 miles per hour. It is fast enough to give a car running above ground a good race.

It evolves into Excadrill at Level 31.

Appearances

Mainstream Games

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Drilbur was commonly found within dust clouds at Wellspring Cave, Mistralton Cave, Chargestone Cave and Twist Mountain.

Other Games

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Drilbur was found in the caves of Shimmering Lake and the second basement floor of World Axle. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Drilbur appeared at Seasong Beach in the Cove Area and was befriended through battle.

Other Appearances

Other Media

  • In the Pokémon anime, Drilbur was featured in a series of flashbacks in one episode which showed Iris with her Driblur before it had evolved into her Excadrill. It was shown that they met when Iris defeated the Drilbur in a battle after it had attacked some Patrat, and she also saved its life. It evolved into Excadrill while fighting a Druddigon in a tournament where it ultimately scored ninety-nine consecutive wins for Iris. Other Drilbur have made minor appearances.

Trivia

  • Its name seems to be a combination of "drill" and "burrow".
